Heh … When I read the headline, I thought it was another example of what I’d read about years ago, that shrewd upper-middle-class blacks whitewash their houses before showing them for sale because it seriously increases the price they can get. Rather bizarre, really, since the race of the people who live there now can’t possibly be relevant to the user-value of the house after they’ve left. So it’s interesting to see that appraisers know that, too. I hope they pursue the case deeply, they may force the appraisers to reveal the dirty secrets.
