Though I expect that we’ll go back to the previous system fairly quickly once Trump is gone. There’s a fairly regular process by which the public moves away from the views of the incumbent President, for the first time in 55 years, the American public on net favors increased immigration.
Though the anti-immigrant stance of the current administration is alienating large segments of the business communities. If we’re lucky, we’ll see the US Chamber of Commerce and the AFL-CIO endorse the same candidate for president!
